Land Acknowledgement

Back to the Streets takes place in Moh’kinsstis, on the ancestral and traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani; the Tsuut’ina Nation; and the Îethka Nakoda Wîcastabi Nations: Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney.

This place is also home to the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, including Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elbow Métis District 6, as well as many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people who live, work, gather, and build community here.

As a Pride Weekend rooted in public space, movement, visibility, and community care, Back to the Streets acknowledges that gathering here carries responsibility. Land acknowledgement is not a substitute for relationship, reciprocity, compensation, access, or accountability. It is a reminder that the streets we gather in are part of living Indigenous lands, histories, treaties, and futures.

We are grateful to gather here, and we commit to doing that work with respect, humility, and care.
